I have successfully installed catalina with opencore and everything appears to be stable for the past several days of heavy general usage. The two items that are still not working are sleep/wake and onboard audio. I am giving up on sleep/wake for now since it has too many known issues with USB controllers causing kernal panics. Audio however would be nice to have and should be fixable. I went through the full list of Layout ID's for ALC1220 (which I believe is the same as S1220?), which are: 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 15, 16, 21, 27, 28, 29, 34. None are working unfortunately. I also tried patching HDAS to HDEF with all of the Layout ID's too. This was done trying to use the boot arg alcid=xx as well as trying the official way through device properties with no luck. The 1220 has a reference ID of 0x100003, that I have not done anything specific with other than know it exists, so not sure if that needs to be entered anywhere or is there just for reference to the appropriate Layout ID buckets.
Motherboard is: Asus Crosshair VIII Impact (mini dtx board)
Any pointers on where to check next would be greatly appreciated, I have exhausted all of the resources I know of and am stuck. For now, I am able to get audio from the output on a USB headphone stand, but quality is degraded so not preferable.
