You need to do these steps the first time you start the VM, once configured it will save the changes permanentl. The only time you need to run through setting up EFI, is after doing an update.

Start the macOS VM and immediately begin pressing F2 to enter the UEFI Boot Maintenance Manager. Once you enter you will see the following screen:

Highlight Boot Maintenance Manager and press enter. Then select Boot Options and press enter.

Next select Add Boot Option and press enter.

Select the EFI entry and press enter.

Select EFI again and press enter.

Select Clover and press enter.

And finally Select CloverX64.efi.

Select Change Boot Order and press enter.

Select Change the Order and then highlight Clover.

From within the VM download Clover Configurator, once its downloaded launch it.

While the VM is shutdown, edit the settings like so:

When the VM is running you'll see a spinning wheel, in the lower menu. Click it to stop recording or start recording.

Download HighSierraAMD installer from here and add it as a secondary drive to your VM:

Code: Select all
http://bit.ly/10_13_2Installb
From inside the VM open your web browser and go to:
Code: Select all

From within the VM download the Combo Update.

Once the software is downloaded, double click the dmg to mount it. It will open and show you the combo update package. Double click on it to start the install process. Once it's done with the initial install, it will reboot. It will reboot to an install window. Let it run till complete, it will try to reboot but VBox doesn't reboot automatically, then choose Machine menu and from there click Reset. Begin pressing F2 immediately, as the install changed the boot order, to enter the UEFI Boot Maintenance Manager.

Move Clover back to the top of the list with the + key and save and restart.

Image

At the Clover Boot menu you want to select the last entry, this is the HighSierraAMD installer. Press enter to boot it.

Once the installer loads, select you language and click Next. Then click on Utilities and then click on Terminal to open a terminal window. Enter the following in the terminal window:
Code: Select all

Once complete choose restart and once the machine hangs on reboot. Open Machine menu and choose reset. Once reset it will load the Clover Boot menu, select the Boot macOS Install from HFS+ volume entry to boot into the actual full install.

Once the installer finishes, it will try to reboot but hang. Click on Machine Menu and then choose Reset. Upon reset start pressing F2 to enter the Boot Maintenance Manager again to move Clover back to the top of the boot priority. Once done choose Reset System to restart to Clover.

Image

Once the Clover Boot menu loads, you want to select the last entry again for the HighSierraAMD installer. Now we're going to do post install. Once the installer loads, select your language and click Next, then from the Utilities Menu choose Terminal. Once terminal loads you want to enter the following commands:
Code: Select all
cd /Volumes/HighSierraAMD
amd

enter macOS as the Volume Name
Image

Once its done it will try to restart and hang, click on Machine Menu and choose Reset to boot to Clover. Now choose the first entry in the boot menu to boot macOS into your newly minted 10.13.3.

You can now remove the hsinstaller.vmdk from your list of drives and return to just having macOS and Recovery entries in Clover.
