Hello,

My question is what files and kernel do I need to make a bootable usb drive of El Capitan.

This is my rig :

CPU : AMD FX 8320
RAM : 16GB Hyper X
GPU : Asus GTX 660 2GB
MOBO : Asus M5A78L-M / USB3
PSU : Corsair CX500M
HDD : 1TB + 250GB + 640 GB

To begin with you will need access to OS X. If you don't have it you can use my VMWare image here, viewtopic.php?f=23&t=9

Then follow this tutorial, viewtopic.php?f=24&t=20

Followed by this one, viewtopic.php?f=24&t=80

No it doesn't make the USB it just installs some kexts and kernels but I am not supporting it anymore and the kernel for El Capitan on it is out of date now.

I need to install os x to hdd after installing it do i need to reboot on install usb to transfer the kernel etc or just boot on el capitan from hdd and usb and then via terminal transfer the kernel etc ? Thanks

You don't need to reboot back into the installer. If you open the log then it will cancel out the auto reboot and give you time to open up terminal.
