This got things into a good place for me; all my USB ports work predictably now. The only issue I'm running into is none of my USB hubs work. This is pretty inconvenient for me as I'm trying to use a USB switch that enumerates as a USB hub (so I can use a single mouse/keyboard for two computers). I've tried regular USB 2.0 and 3.0 hubs, and they show up in ioregistry explorer and System Information, but it doesn't show any of the devices attached to them.

Does anyone have any leads on this? I'm at my wits end. If I can get this sorted out I'll be on cloud nine, and have everything I need working.

Interestingly, if I use the GenericUSBXHCI kext, the hubs work but unfortunately I get rather frequent kernel panics.

Edit: I get these console messages when plugging in a device to the hub:
Code: Select all

Just wanted to say THANK YOU. After a month of me stalling to fix my usb ports, I finally found your tutorial and it worked like a charm!

Only my 3.0 ports worked before (so I had 4 2.0 ports useless, including 2 in the front panel), but now all my 3.0 and 2.0 works! Thanks!!!

I'm curious if you ever got your USB hub to work. I'm having the same issue.
